Turning conversation
into change.

What began as a circle of strangers on X has grown into a trust that lights up village schools with solar power, stands with soldiers on the border, and rebuilds lives after the floods.

How it started

A modern echo of
Pu La's Raosaheb.

It began on Twitter Spaces — now X — as Raosaheb Katta, hosted by @Prasaadhere. Strangers gathered to argue and laugh about politics, art, films, history; the kind of adda where, as Pu La Deshpande wrote, people speak like old friends.

Equal parts wit, wisdom, and community — a place where talk turned into देव · देश · धर्म.

The conversations didn't stay online. They became solar panels on a tribal school's roof, Diwali sweets carried to a forward post in Kashmir, and relief reaching families in flood-hit Marathwada. The Trust is simply the Katta, keeping its word.

Our Work

Five fronts, one belief: a good conversation should leave the world a little better than it found it.

Lighting up learning

Solar for Schools

Residential and tribal schools in remote districts run on unreliable, expensive power. We install rooftop solar so the lights — and the laptops — stay on, and the money saved goes back into teaching, nutrition and books.

  • 8 institutions powered, ~39 kW total
  • Plus a 1,000-litre solar water heater at Gangakhed
  • Laptops & computer labs seeded alongside
  • Chaturvedeshwar Dham, Savargaon 2.1 kW
  • Yogeshwari Shikshan, Sambhajinagar 5 kW
  • Sant Gadgebaba Ashram, Anjandoh 5 kW
  • Sonamata Shikshan, Cidco 5 kW
  • Chanakya Mandal Pariwar, Pune 15 kW
  • Sant Namdev Ved Vidyalay, Aundha 2 kW
  • Golwalkar Guruji Vidyalay, Deglur 5 kW
  • Maharshi Yajnavalkya, Gangakhed Water heater
A taste of home, far from home

Service & Honour

Standing with the people who protect and serve — at the border, and at home.

  • Diwali on the border: faral carried to J&K posts, 3 years running
  • Raksha Bandhan: rakhis made by students, sent to jawans
  • Women's Day: health & wellness kits for Mumbai's women police
Standing with Marathwada

Flood Relief

When the 2025 floods hit, we built and hand-delivered essentials, one family at a time, in Paranda, Dharashiv.

  • 50 family kits: cookware, vessels and daily essentials
  • Solapuri blankets woven by local Dhangar artisans
  • Delivered with Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Sambhajinagar
Keeping memory alive

History & Heritage

Connecting a new generation to the people and events that shaped India.

  • 750 students hosted for the Swatantryaveer Savarkar film
  • 'Savarkar Vichar Darshan' book sets gifted to ~10 schools
  • The Ninad Bedekar memorial award & history talks
  • Restored the welcome arch at Sant Ramdas Swami's birthplace, Jamb
Where it all comes back to

प्रिय बळीराजा,
To the farmer who feeds us: the seasons may be cruel, but you are not alone. Hold on — because the sun rises again, and so will you.

Be part of the next school we light up.

We run lean and on trust — every rupee shows up as a solar panel, a relief kit, a book in a child's hands. Whether you give once or join the Katta for good, you make the next project possible.
